We’ve been happy to see inventory levels rising year over year. It often gets lost in the news that more homes are coming on the market every year, but with homes selling in fewer than 30 days on the market, they sell just as quickly as they come onto it. Did you know that there have been 61% more homes for sale in San Mateo County year over year? There have also been 36% more homes listed in Santa Clara County.

You might say that 2020 was a strange year to sell homes, and you’re right about that! However, let’s compare the first six months of 2019 to 2021: Compared to 2019, 8% more single-family homes sold in Santa Clara County, and 24.7% more homes sold in San Mateo County this year. More inventory plus attractive interest rates mean that 2021 is shaping up to be a great year to buy or sell a house.
