Today, I’d like to talk to you about a study done by United Van Lines. They have been doing a study for 44 years on which states people are leaving and where they’re heading. This can have strong implications for your local real estate market, so it’s important we understand what it says.

Right now, I’ll be focusing on California. About 30.65% of people leaving California in 2020 were taken away by jobs, 18.78% by lifestyle, 30.35% by family, 5.41% by health, and 22.69% by retirement. This is a huge jump from previous years in the family category, and I think we can safely call this the ‘COVID effect’. Overall, more people left California than entered, but there remains a lot of movement both ways.

If you or anyone you know are thinking about moving, let me know. We have tons of experience and love helping people. We look forward to hearing from you.
